Tantalize your Taste Buds

Citrus County has what it takes to tantalize your taste buds! From the “tried and true” diners and casual seafood stands, to top-notch chef-owned entrepreneurial restaurant and fine dining, a wide array of dining options awaits every discriminating pallet.

Kason and Morgan Sundberg, already the owners of the well-known The Loft Bar & Grill, Lollygaggers in Crystal River, Floral City, and mobile food truck for catering events, had a vision to add an upscale steakhouse restaurant to Citrus County’s food profile.  Morgan, sixth-generation granddaughter, and cattle farmer heir to the Barco Family Farms in Floral City, always wanted a steakhouse. So, she started Kane's Cattle Company, named after Kason and Morgan's young son, Kane.  Kane's casual and welcoming atmosphere is perfect for a tasty lunch experience before it transitions to fine dining in the evening.  The menu focuses on quality steaks and other meats, many locally raised from the Barco farms. Take a moment inside the restaurant to admire Kane’s "Cattlemen's Wall", where local cattlemen can etch their brands.

Born and raised in Cajun Country, owners Jimmy and Sue Stoltz of Seafood Seller & Café will have you thinking you are on the Bayou.  They like to say, "We're Cajun, and don't mess around".  “Cajun Jimmy” prides himself on freshly caught fish straight from their own boats. Great satisfaction and joy exude from this family run operation that works hard and makes everything to order.  Their diverse menu includes from their signature blue crab claws, wild-caught fish, shellfish (both raw and cooked), gumbo, gator bites, steak, burgers and grouper sandwiches. And, of course, there is the Jambalaya.  They invite you to come in and enjoy a beer, wine, or something from their full-service liquor bar.

Renowned Chef Richard Wiggins, owner of Katch Twenty-Two, brought his culinary skills to Lecanto in 2016 to take fine dining to an entirely new level with his clean, classic flavors using the freshest natural ingredients.  Seafood is locally sourced and incorporated into his favorite and most requested dishes. With a 20-year hospitality career as Chef under the likes of the Hyatt and Westin family Hotels, Richard’s passion for creative and delicious food transcends artistic expression into a fine gourmet experience.  Richard’s vision was to open a casual waterfront restaurant with the same attention to detail for great food.  Enter, in 2020.  The food is amazing and the views on Kings Bay are incredible.

If you seek to find true New York style pizza and the Italian food from “back home” in Citrus County, look no further than Marianas’s the Stinky Rose, aptly named after the fragrant “stinky” clove of garlic. They make the authentic pizza you long for along with your favorite pasta entrees.  For dessert, try fan favorites cannoli and Tiramisu. This retired NYPD law enforcement family that owns and operates Mariana’s is an example of pursuing a later-in-life passion.  Marianas has been awarded the “Best of the Best” Italian restaurant in the county!
